UPDATE: The union between adidas and Japan's Porter has produced one of the hottest Chukkas of the season. The shoe takes on the Three Stripes' classic black and blue, and is lined with branding down the heel. As well as adidas stockists, you'll be able to find these NMDs at Overkill on June 10.
It has been some time since adidas last collaborated with Japanese luggage lords Yoshida & Co. Having previously put their spin on heritage silhouettes from the Three Stripes archive, including the Stan Smith and Superstar, the crew at Porter have diverted their attention to something a little more contemporary for their latest colab in the form of the NMD Chukka.
One of the lesser-seen NMD silhouettes, Porter's rendition bucks their signature hazard orange-based colourway, flying under the radar in a clean black and white combination with sky blue shanks. Collaborative touches are equally downplayed, with a Porter-branded tongue tag and Three Stripes branding replacing the typical multilingual heel strip. Where the NMD Chukka has conventionally utilised a suede or mesh base in recent iterations, Porter have taken things back to good ol' Primeknit.
Tapping into their true talents, Porter have also knocked out a duo of carry-based accessories for the colab. Both the Helmut messenger bag and Arno waist bag have received the colab touch, predominantly black with dual-branding and subtle pops of sky blue – an adidas signature.
The Porter x adidas 2017 Collection is available right now through JUICE, exclusively in store. Stay tuned for a wider release through select adidas stockists.
