UPDATE: The crew at Lower Grounds have taken Pharrell's glistening adidas colab out of the studio and into the streets with this fresh set of images, giving a closer look at the new silhouette's finer details. The Melbourne retailer will be putting its pairs on sale at 11am on May 6, with any leftover pairs hitting their online store later that day.
After a multitude of teases and previews, Pharrell's latest adidas collaboration is finally ready to hit shelves. Officially named the Tennis Hu, the brand new silhouette features a streamlined Stan Smith-inspired Primeknit upper affixed to a diamond-etched sole unit. True to its roots, the model will make its debut in the Stan Smith's traditional combination of crispy white with apple green accents – as first spotted back in February. Now, we have a look at a second colourway that will also be dropping at launch. Like the first, this make-up also features a pure white upper, but opts for a lemon yellow sole unit, metallic gold heel tab and off-white suede tongue tag.
Eagle-eyed sneakerheads might notice that, with the exception of the beige tongue tag, the shoe embraces identical colour-blocking to the Nike Bruins specially made for the Australian Olympic team in 2004 – yes, including the blinding yellow midsole and the glistening gold heel tab! Given the obscurity of this team-exclusive make-up however, we'll put this resemblance down to pure coincidence.
The Pharrell Williams x adidas Tennis Hu 'Gold' will release through select adidas Originals stockists on May 6.
