According to the Dutch streetwear favourites, the Air Jordan 7 was a logical choice for their Jumpman colab: the kicks are creative director Vincent van de Waal's all-time favourite, and originally dropped at an important time for both van de Waal and Patta's Guillaume Schmidt.
'It was a golden era for hip-hop and a big year for me, a lot of very important albums that I still carry with me came out between '92 and '96. And aesthetically, those years had such colourful imagery and strong connections to black empowerment. The VII and its geometric patterns also have a reference to Africa,' explains Schmidt, who is a native of Suriname.
Perhaps best of all, the colab isn't limited to just the sneakers: the drop also pays tribute to the out-of-this-world AJ7 apparel that dropped alongside the sneakers back in 1992, including a tracksuit, t-shirt, shorts and boonie.
