Like it or not, Virgil Abloh has left an indelible mark on the sneaker game. His ‘The Ten’ aesthetic has been all-pervading, and we’re starting to see it trickle down to Nike’s GR releases.
Last week we saw Abloh’s low-slung Swoosh hit the Blazer Low XS, and now the Air Force 1 is sporting its Off-White influence. The latest iteration of Bruce Kilgore’s design comes in both white and black and the reverse, and the devil’s all in the details. The exposed tags and mini Swooshes with trademark symbols call to Abloh’s style and the Off-White logo, while the contrasting ‘Air’ on the midsole makes obvious reference to OW’s ubiquitous quotation-marked midsole branding.
Whether you’ve drunk the Kool-Aid or not, it looks like the designer’s influence isn’t going away anytime soon.
No definite details on these yet, but sources are slating a November 1 release. We’ll let you know.
