Nike’s latest Air Max Plus is an homage to a classic Mercurial. The connection between the cleat and runner isn’t obvious at first, but the two go way back. Both debuted in 2008 and are celebrating their 20th anniversary this year; and with the World Cup right around the corner, Nike thought fit to reestablish the connection.
This TN is one of six that will wear Mercurial colours and is a tribute to the boots worn by Cristiano Ronaldo in his first game as captain of Real Madrid.
Like that Mercurial Vapor IX CR, this Air Max Plus is blanketed in white with pops of orange on its sole and Swoosh. Hemispheres of Air take the look from turf to tarmac, and reflective pops on the tongue will keep you playing well into the night.
Pairs are available now from Foot Locker.
