Talk about a mysterious release! Every February, North America's Black History Month recognises and celebrates the achievements – as the New York Times puts it, 'ones that were gained against nearly impossible economic, social and political odds.' – of African Americans throughout US history. Since 2005, Nike have commemorated the occasion with a number of limited edition 'BHM' make-ups, expanding from solitary Air Force 1 releases to extensive collections of kicks as the years have gone by.
The BHM collection of 2017 wasn't lacking in quality releases, but, four months later out of nowhere, a BHM version of the new Zoom Rev 2017 has dropped. Like others from this year's collection, the new performance basketball model features a black and white colour scheme with swirled graphics printed across the upper with touches of lustrous gold. The BHM logo is debossed at the heel and the clear outsole is injected with gold glitter scattered above the word 'Love'.
The Nike Zoom Rev 2017 'BHM' is available now through Nike's online store, though – adding even more to the mystery – you'll need to unlock the ability to purchase this pair through Nike+ app.
