Nike SB Raid the Archives Again for a Dunk Makeover

After the latest must-have   Dunk took obvious inspiration from the revered 2003 atmos x Nike Air Max 1 ‘Safari’, it seems that Nike’s skateboarding division are once again tapping Hidefumi Hommyo’s archives for inspiration.

British sneaker community crepecity revealed the news that a Nike SB Dunk PRM ‘Elephant’ is on the cards for a November 2020 release, with a mock-up image indicating the same design as the beloved x Nike Air Max 1 that debuted in 2007. That atmos creation featured a black suede quarter, white leather base, patent turquoise Swoosh, and mudguards covered in Nike’s iconic elephant print pattern – most famously used on Tinker Hatfield’s Air Jordan 3. The limited-edition atmos colab was so popular that it won Nike’s ‘Vote Back’ campaign to be reissued for in 2017.

As with the new ‘Safari’ release, the upcoming ‘Elephant’ SB Dunk doesn’t appear to be any kind of official colab. Start preparing for the rumoured November drop later this year, it’s sure to be keenly anticipated.
