Nike SB’s Dunk High Elite is a skate-optimised basketball-inspired sneaker born out of the technological nous of the 21st century. Though they may have a similar panel layout to the OG Dunk, and in this case a classically styled colourway, that’s about where the comparison runs dry. Their knitted sock-like bootie and stitch-free forefoot are produced in ways they could only dream of back in the 80s, while the advanced cushioning and support comes as a product of decades of polymer research and technology. This particular version comes courtesy of Swoosh sporting pro Cyrus Bennett, with a simple blue and white upper it’s a guaranteed hit with the skate rats down at the local supermarket loading dock.
The Nike SB Dunk High Elite ‘Cyrus’ drops October 19 at select stockists, as well as online.
