It seems Nike are instigating an 80s running renaissance. Following in the footsteps of the updated Air Mariah, the Duellist roadster has also been retooled for modern times. It makes sense; road runners rarely race alone, choosing instead to share the wind for faster times – the Duellist appears to be coming back to support its old pal. Though Nike haven’t offered anything official about the Duellist upgrade, it has reportedly been renamed the Duel Racer. Like the new Mariah, a knitted sock construction has been employed, with cushioning that looks a lot like Phylon – just like on the OG.
A release date for the Nike Duel Racer isn’t certain, but we’re hopeful it will appear when the Air Zoom Mariah OG Racer drops on June 22. Stay tuned for updates.
