Nike Postpone Air Jordan 3 'Katrina' Release

Nike Air Jordan 3 KatrinaNike Air Jordan 3 Katrina

Jordan Brand created the Air Jordan 3 'Katrina' back in 2006; it was made exclusively for a charity auction in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. The 1-of-1 pair was never released to the public. In the decade since, sneakerheads have been desperate to get their hands on this rare white, cement grey and fire red model.

Fans of the colourway can now breathe easy – the wait is over. Nike have just announced that the Air Jordan 3 'Katrina' will release at some point in 2018. The shoe was originally scheduled for a 2017 release, but with Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Maria wreaking havoc in the Northern Hemisphere, we're guessing that Nike decided that it would be in poor taste to release the shoe in the coming months. On the other hand, Nike may have missed a valuable opportunity to contribute to current hurricane fundraising efforts.

No precise drop date has been set for the Air Jordan 3 'Katrina', but we'll be sure to keep you updated with details of the release as they come in.
