Since Kobe Bryant has retired from the NBA, he's anything but forgotten. Nike continues to celebrate the 20 year career of the legendary player by releasing a new version of the Kobe 11 Elite ‘GCR’ (or, Great Career Recall). The black Flyknit upper has been flecked with gold and then hit side on with a fully gilt Swoosh. The heel tabs are packed with references to important moments of Kobe's time on and off the court. On one side they show 24 stars referencing Bryant’s jersey number, and the other they show two stars, one for each of his Olympic gold medals. On the strip leading up to the tab, at the heel of the left shoe there are four stripes, recalling the four feet of thread used to repair Kobe’s Achilles heel during his surgery in 2013.
We don’t have any solid release info on the Nike Kobe 11 Elite GCR just yet, we’ll keep you posted.
