NIKE ‘JACK WOOL’ SOAKER
May 22, 2013
We know they’re probably not sneakers, but this all-new model is a really nice piece of design with some credentials as a cross-country rumbler. As ever, we remain committed to supporting innovative design and esoteric footwear initiatives. All you one-eyed Dunk lovers go take a long shower. You’ll probably hate on these… like they say, whatever!
This all-new model isn’t actually branded as ACG, even though its appearance would poke it firmly in that direction. It’s actually a take-down (or a take-up) of the Nike Soaker as first seen in Sneaker Freaker 9. The bright red Soaker as it was then shown was one of the first examples of the enviro-sound Considered program being merged into ACG and was designed to process moisture and force it out through the holes in the midsole to enable your foot to stay dry as a sultana.
In this iteration, the revised high-top model has had the holes seemingly deleted and comes in flattering colors for both sexes, which makes it just perfect for the ‘naturalist’ couple that enjoy the outdoors. As you can see, it also features ‘Jack Wool’ material on the uppers, and a choice between lumberjack check or corduroy, both reminiscent of the winter flap-hats endorsed by huntsmen and fighters of the cold worldwide. Extra protection comes from the protective shell on the toe box and with the 0.44 sticky rubber outsole, you know you wont fall A over T in these gummy buns. You can practically taste the misty mountain morning air with these in your hand!
