Renowned sneaker enthusiast, writer and friend of Sneaker Freaker, Gary Warnett, passed away last year. The great man would’ve celebrated his 40th birthday this week, so Nike are honouring his memory by releasing an uber-limited ‘GW’ Air Span II.
According to UK-based publication Bedford Today, the Air Span II was a favourite of Gary’s late father, Richard. The colourway takes an understated approach, with a white and grey foundation offset by green/blue pops. The ‘II’ on the Air Span II logo has been replaced with ‘GW’ initials, branding the model Gary’s own.
Only 40 pairs of the Nike Air Span II have been produced, with pairs allocated to Warnett’s friends and family only. RIP Gary.
