We've had our eye on IG sneaker customiser Ju Working On Projects – aka Julian Gaines – for a while now. It seems nearly every man, woman and their dog is gramming their sneaker customisations lately, and while many customs miss the mark, there's just something about Ju's simple Air Force 1 make-ups that lodged them our memory.
The 26-year-old Gaines works as a freelance fine artist and consultant and was originally selling these sweet monochromatic customs to his followers. But now, the Chicago-based talent has taken one massive step up the sneaker ladder.
The effectiveness of that painted black overlaid Swoosh caught Nike's eye, and it now appears that the brand is working with Gaines in an official capacity. For a customiser with just under 7000 IG followers, he's living the dream!
Gaines has been doing some consultancy work with Nike for a while and he teased in an October interview with Notre that he was cooking up something special for the NBA All-Star weekend in February 2018.
For now, details of this All-Star colab are unclear. We'll be sure to let you know as more news rolls in. In the meantime, you can read Nike's full profile on Julian Gaines here.
