UPDATE: We're guessing that by this point the indigo dyed Nike Flyknit Racer is all gone, 100 pairs don't go that far. We can still appreciate the sheer beauty of the dye dipped Flyknit, and thanks to Hypebeast we've got a new set of pics to drool over. Or maybe they're still in the post…
Nike have started gearing up for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics by dipping into some Japanese tradition. The modern Flyknit Racer has been lowered into an indigo dye bath and emerged in this brilliant blue, with subtle variations and lively hues playing across its upper. The special edition sneakers have been hand dyed, so there are only 100 pairs floating around, none of which will be available to the public – we’re as bummed out as you are. The tongue tag shows Japanese Katakana characters, spelling out ‘Nike’, to honour the rich culture of Japan and help us all get hyped for the next wave of Nike innovation leading up to the games.
The hand-dyed indigo Nike Flyknit Racer won’t be available to the public. Save up your pocket money and pray they hit the ‘Bay shortly.
