Nike Cortez (Dia De Los Muertos)

Date: October 30 2015

UPDATE: October 31 is the day in question, but October 29 is the trigger day to cop yourself a pair of these from spots including Wish ATL.

Nike have released a Cortez that salutes the Dia de los Muertos, AKA the Day of the Dead. The shoe has a sugar skull embroidered in halves on the footbeds and features the floral decorations synonymous with the holiday in black and white on the upper, and embroidered on the heel. The Cortez was hugely popular with Latino gangs when it came out, and without a scratch of evidence further into the matter, we can only assume that this is Nike giving a subtle nod to their impact on sneaker culture.
