Nike and Converse have been long-time supporters of Black History Month, and the brands’ latest ‘BHM’ collection continues the unwavering support with an Air Force 1, Air Max 95, Chuck Taylor, and Pro Leather.
Each silhouette wears an assortment of bright shades and cut-and-sew decorations for an eye-catching DIY aesthetic inspired by African textiles. The Air Force 1 features loose threads hanging from the Swoosh, including a modified lacing system with only two eyestays on each side and a lace keeper in the centre. Taking the colours up a notch, the Air Max 95’s upper is inspired by human anatomy, as detachable lace shrouds provide a potential platform for customisation.
Meanwhile, the Converse duo takes on a slightly more reserved appearance. The Chuck Taylor is the wilder of the two, wearing a patchwork pattern on the upper. Rounding things out, the Pro Leather flaunts the popular Joker-esque combo of green and purple.
The Nike and Converse BHM collection hits Nike on February 19. More details to come!
