UPDATE: The newest iteration in 's signature range is almost here! Our of the shoe revealed it to be the best performing of all the sneakers worn in Western Conference Finals, and these new pictures have it looking just as good off the court. We've also got an official name for the shoe – the 'Pre-heat' – which is a lot more engaging than 'Grey' as it was previously named. The KD 9 will be released on June 20 from all good accounts.
If you've been following this year's NBA Playoffs, Oklahoma City Thunder pummelling the Golden State Warriors in game three of the Western Conference Finals might have come as a surprise. However for sneaker lovers, the most newsworthy aspect of that game was Kevin Durant wearing his brand new Nike KD9 – months before their originally scheduled release at the Rio Olympics. The of the shoe in 'Black/Red' emerged earlier this year – along with details on its four year long gestation period. However, the shoe that Durant debuted on court was a previously unseen smooth grey colour way.
This KD9's upper merges tonal variations of grey across its Flyknit weave and structural supports, while the Swoosh is a metallic silver. An Infrared-style hue gleams beneath from the translucent, full-length Air Zoom sole unit.
The Nike KD9 in grey will be available from from June 20.
