In 1986, Ingrid Kristiansen cemented the Sock Racer as a force to be reckoned with by wearing them while crushing the Boston Marathon. But even though runners adopted the Racer immediately, others found the shoe a little too esoteric for day-to-day wear. We've come a long way since then, and Nike have decided that we’re ready to embrace the Sock Racer once again. In the past few weeks we’ve seen a bunch of new colourways, the shoe is hitting NIKEiD and now it's appeared in a bright ‘Glacier Blue/Pink’ make-up. All pigments fade into each other, suffusing over the Flyknit upper like watercolours. Underfoot, the crisp white Ultra midsole will ensure that each step is as comfy as the last.
The Nike Air Sock Racer Ultra Flyknit in Glacier Blue/Pink doesn’t have a release date yet, but word on the grapevine is that it will be hitting Nike accounts very soon.
