The Nike Air Griffey Max 1 is a bruiser of a silhouette. It flexes four huge visible Air Units in its bulky midsole and boasts a thick strap that hangs tough across the bulky upper. It’s 20 years since the shoe, Baseball star Ken Griffey Junior’s signature model, released and Nike are dropping new colourways to mark the occasion.
The latest combo features a black and white upper hit with ‘Fresh Water’ accents – inspired by the green on the Seattle Mariner’s logo (Where Griffey starred as a home run hero). The green features on the Swoosh, footbed, pulltabs and sole and is balanced with measured drops of spicy Tabasco red to the centre lace loop and heel. Finishing it off, the insoles read '24EVER' a reference to Griffey's playing number.
Nike Air Griffey Max 1 is available now from select Nike retailers.
