It's fair to say that the Sock Dart was ahead of the curve when it dropped in 2004. Releasing at a time when sneakerheads were almost exclusively copping retro classics, there was little love going around for the unorthdox design and it was quickly pulled from Nike's line-up. With sneakerheads growing a little more appreciative of the obscure over the past decade, Nike returned the single-strapped neoprene runner to the market in 2015 and, with a little help from Fragment Design, it solidified itself as one of the most hyped silhouettes of the year. Thankfully, there's no end in sight for our beloved Sock Dart and we can expect a slew of new colourways dropping in 2016, including triple black and blazing orange – our wallets are crying already! Our sneaker-sense tells us Nike has big things in the pipeline for the Sock Dart in 2016, so stay tuned. Pics via TierZero.
