The sneaker scientists at New Balance are keeping us guessing in regards to what the ‘H’ stands for. However, we’ve done our research, and can safely say that all signs point towards a solid ‘Hypothesis’. Thankfully, the 997H’s technical and aesthetic upgrades are there for all to see.
New Balance have upgraded the OG’s C-CAP/ENCAP-fused cushioning, adding GCEVA and a modernised outsole profile for a lighter feel. Meanwhile, bright neon accents nod to the brand’s running heritage, with a bright Peony ‘N’ logo and teal detailing coming through strong against a crisp white base.
‘Made in USA’ represents New Balance’s cream of the crop, but the 997H looks to tap into a whole new niche, appealing to everyone from the die-hards to the NB neophytes.
The New Balance 997H ‘Sea Salt/Peony’ is available alongside three more stunning women’s colourways. You can hit up all leading New Balance retailers to test this ‘hypothesis’ right now!
