The OMN1S has graced the feet of New Balance dynamo Kawhi Leonard since he signed with the brand, but he is about to finally wear his first signature NB sneaker. It’s eponymously named the KAWHI, and we’ll see it in action at the All-Star Game in a matter of minutes from time of writing.
It looks to be a fairly conventional basketball shoe, likely sitting a similar height as the OMN1S and definitely shying away from the shin-scraping high-tops of old. Ice soles suggest high grip and feel, while the forefoot overlays look to brace the foot. The uppers combine breathable mesh and structured synthetic panels with an interesting print.
With numbers reported to be very limited, it may be a little while longer before we see a wider release, but here’s hoping the Fun Guy has a good game in them.
