New Balance have just unveiled a new model known as the 247, a number that alludes to the ethos of living life 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Closer inspection reveals the 247 is an amalgam of NB influences, with bits and pieces from different models repackaged into a trim silhouette that is tuned for modern living. The 1300JP informs the throat pattern on the forefoot, while the 998 from 1993 is the foundation for the Revlite sole unit. Classic NB grey nubuck is offset against the blue toe box, a clear nod to the colour of the original 576 model. The detailing is superb, with quality materials throughout, including a heavily perforated toebox and sock-style construction for max comfort. Everything has been carefully considered to produce a next-gen model pitched perfectly at New Balance loyalists.
Only 247 pairs have been produced of this ‘Friends and Family’ edition, which came packaged with a leather ‘passport’ and a killer Hex bag that is perfect for the conveyance of kicks. Keep your eyes alive for more NB247 news… this looks like the start of something significant over at NB!
