Following the success of the New Balance574 Sport in 2017, the sporstwear brand's studious team of heritage historians returned to the archives to retrieve its OG inspiration for a very special release – a near one-to-one recreation of the original 574 from 1988.
Over time, after decades in rotation, classic runners have a tendency to lose their shape and the 574 is no exception. To truly honour this staple of the NB lineup, the model has been tweaked and refined with scrutiny to recapture the shape and construction of the OG, down to the smallest detail. If you ever thought that retro runners had to be bulky imitations of their former selves, then you clearly need to get yourself acquainted with the big-N – stat!
This specific retro has been produced exclusively for a select circle of family and friends, and has been graced with a medley of greys – as is only fitting for the most prestigious of the brand's releases. This uber-limited release is finished with a pre-aged outsole for a touch of OG authenticity and lustrous gold branding in recognition of this retro's first class quality.
This particular New Balance 574 Classic was gifted exclusively to friends and family, and as such, it'll sadly will never be sold in stores. The good news is that NB have big plans for the OG 574 in 2018 and this release is only the beginning. Stay tuned!
