A couple of years ago New Balance and Grenson, two leviathans of UK-based footwear manufacturing, teamed up for their inaugural ‘One Shoe, Two Factories’ collaboration. Now the duo are back at it with a second dose of sophisticated sneaker styles, carefully crafted from Italian full-grain calf leathers.
The collection features both a men’s and women’s 576, both of which have been placed atop a C-Cap sole unit. A third 576 has been given a chunky white Goodyear Welted sole unit, utilising a traditional method of stitching the upper and the sole together using a strip of leather, which allows the sole top be replaced once you scuff your heavy heel through.
Each shoe is garnished with a healthy quantity of brogue detailing, another heritage touch donated by Grenson, Northamptonshire’s premier handmade footwear manufacturer since 1866.
