Hot on the heels of their recent collaboration with Converse, the crew at Neighborhood have turned their attention to the other vulc-soled giant of the sneaker world – Vans. Dropping just in time for summer, the collaborative collection has been produced under the SoCal footwear brand's premium Vault label. The collection consists of the Sk8-Hi and Authentic silhouettes, in both red and black colourways, putting a modern twist on classic Vans graphics.
The Authentic adopts the brand's signature checkerboard print, with the pattern applied to both the canvas toe-cap and the midsole – complete with repeated trademarking. The rest of the shoe is left clean in white, with hints of colour utilised on the piping, foxing stripe and licence plate at the heel. The Sk8-Hi embraces a more obscure graphic from Vans' BMX archives on its canvas underlay. Premium suede is used for the remainder of the sneaker, with the exception of the iconic jazz stripe, which is made of leather.
The Neighborhood x Vans Vault SS17 collection will be available from May 6, exclusively through Vans Vault stockists – including Invincible.
