The revival of chequered Vans Slip-Ons was bubbling away through 2016 before hitting a rolling boil when Frank Ocean wore them to the Whitehouse.
If you like the shoes but are too trend-averse to wear them, N.Hoolywood have cooked up a way for you to get involved. The brand has done something Japanese labels are great at – they've taken a piece of Americana style, examined it through a fresh lens, and refashioned it in manner distinctly their own.
The Slip-Ons are rebuilt with nappy suede and painted to achieve a leathery finish. If the refined construction still isn't enough of a departure for you, you’ll be pleased to know that these Slip-Ons are shapeshifters. The front collar of both has been nipped an inch down, allowing it to fold over to transform the shoe into a flat-soled penny loafer.
The N.Hoolywood x Vans Slip-ons will be available on August 12 from Invincible.
