Earlier in the week we previewed BOOST the Nation’s pizza-slice sneaker, a garden-covered iteration, and one with a tiny pork chop sewn to its Primeknit. Today, we look at another in adidas x Refinery29 collection – an UltraBOOST that pays tribute to California and its denizens' sunshine-loving lifestyle. Designed by artist Meagan Morrison, the shoe’s upper is painted with a Cali sunset and dotted with palm trees instantly recognisable to anyone who’s cruised the boulevards of the Golden State (or seen an ep of Fresh Prince, Baywatch, Melrose Place, 90210, Californication, Entourage etc.)
Chosen to rock the sunny sneak (and stoke silent auction bids) is Californian fitness and fashion blogger Michelle Carigma. Raising funds for Women Win – an organisation with a mission to 'equip adolescent girls to exercise their rights through sport' – the first-of-its-kind auction closes July 11.
