Around this time last year, Nike released a LeBron 14 ‘Agimat’ after visiting the Philippines and falling in love with the country. As follow up, the Swoosh are set to release the next edition ‘Agimat’ as a LeBron Soldier 12.
Tagalog for 'amulet' or 'charm', the Agimat is often worn by Filipino players on and off the court. Much like its predecessor, this year’s iteration features a tonal blue knit upper with gold detailing. Running along the tongue tag are small gold symbols that pay homage to the King’s track record and to Filipino fans' unwavering love of the superstar player. The symbols include ‘MNL’ and ‘330’ to represent Manila and Akron, LeBron’s hometown. Similar to the 2017 model, the new iteration features script down the ankle: para sa kadakilaan, which reads ‘for greatness’. The King James logo can be found on the inner sole and stitched on the midfoot strap.
The ‘Agimat’ will be available worldwide as well as in SE Asian cities (Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia) from June 15. For those in the Philippines, pairs will be available at select Nike Park and Titan branches.
