At first glance these Nike SB Blazers may look unnecessarily wild, but those familiar with the legendary skateboarding career of Lance Mountain will understand. The rainbow fade has been a recurring motif throughout the skater's professional life, appearing on his board graphics, promo gear and even making its way into his artwork. The 70s-era rock-poster inspired gradient goes from heel to toe with vibrant veracity, while a white midsole and black Swoosh prevent the design from getting too out of hand. The ‘78’ and ‘17’ on the heel refer to the year of Mountain’s earliest memory of the Blazer and, of course, the present.
The Lance Mountain x Nike SB Blazer ‘Friends and Family’ will only be available to a specially selected few. The rest of us will need to try our luck on the ‘Bay in the coming months.
