It’s been 35 years since the original (and some would say true) Ghostbusters film released. K-Swiss celebrate by releasing a dastardly duo in tribute of the sci-fi comedy flick’s most nefarious villains: Slimer and Stay Puft Marshmallow Man.
Drawn up by customiser Alexander-John, the K-Swiss Classic 2000 is Slimer’s silhouette, presented in not-oft seen ‘Ectoplasm Green’ on the shoe’s entirety. Referencing slow-witted Slimer’s ghost, the PVC upper and ice sole takes on an eerie translucence.
Meanwhile, Stay Puft Marshmallow Man’s SI-18 International takes a more holistic execution, sharing the evil mascot’s costuming with a custom padded upper. Explicit callouts to the film’s anniversary are found with ‘GB-84’ embroidery, Ghostbusters heel badge, and shoelaces quoting the famed line: ‘I ain’t afraid of no ghost’.
Both sneakers receive custom insole graphics and come packaged in rather clever shoeboxes paying homage to the Ghostbusters’ ghost traps.
Available online exclusive to Foot Locker, the Ghostbusters pack releases on June 8. However, dedicated fans can also catch it during the Ghostbusters Fan Fest at Sony Pictures Studio Lot.
