From Peppa Pig to the sleety streets of Stockholm, the popularity of puddle jumping has skyrocketed in recent years. Once regarded as little more than a mischievous pastime of wayward youngsters, the aerobic activity has been legitimised thanks in no small part to the support of big name brands such as adidas and Sneakersnstuff.
The Three Stripes have revived a classic silhouette and laid it up with a modern Gore-Tex liner in what's said to be the first shoe designed specifically for puddle jumping. The new design means jumpers won't have to switch from street-style shoes to waterproof splash sneaks whenever they stumble across an irresistible pothole or a desirable ditch.
To promote the design's effectiveness, adidas and Sneakersnstuff produced a short exposé starring Thomas, a puddle-jumping pioneer. Although the footage illustrates only naturally occurring puddles, accessibility to artificial puddles has only increased demand for a shoe such as this, and we have no doubt that the release will be a make a huge splash in sneaker circles around the world. Available in two fashionable colours, the new release will keep the toes of even the most ardent jumper dry.
