In recent months, Jordan Brand has made strong moves in the lifestyle sector. Breaking free from the strict retro focus that arguably remains at the core of the brand, JB have been dabbling in contemporary design at an increasing rate. The Formula 23, introduced in January, put a modern day spin on the Air Jordan 10 and now the brand have introduced their latest work – the Jordan Fly '89.
Like the Formula 23 before it, the Jordan Fly '89 is inspired by a classic silhouette. On this occasion, DNA has been extracted from the Air Jordan 4 – as evident in the heel tab and wing lacing structure. But don't be fooled, the Jordan Fly '89 is an extremely different beast. Heavy on neoprene construction, the monochromatic sock-fit upper bears more of a resemblance to the likes of Nike's LunarCharge or Y-3's Qasa than anything we've seen from Jordan Brand before. Fitted with a Lunarlon sole unit, its sleek looks are backed up with supreme comfort.
The Jordan Fly '89 will debut on May 26 through NDC and select Jordan Brand stockists.
