UK retailer size? has a long history of special make up (SMU) releases. This latest exclusive colourway of the Reebok Bolton is a playful take on the irony of wearing what once were running shoes, for casually paced day-to-day activities. Referring to the partnership as the ‘Ree-cut Running Club’, this is, in their own words, ‘an ode to the running shoes that never make it past walking speed’.
Gone are the performance-intended mesh inserts on the upper. They’ve been replaced with colourful ‘Madras’ plaid fabric for fun pops of colour. The Bolton’s outsole looks particularly good in full-length gum rubber. Before things get too out of hand, the contrasting overlays are still traditional neutral-coloured microfibre.
Definitely intended for lounging, as demonstrated by size? with soft sweatpants. This unisex release will only be available at their retail locations and webstore from August 24.
