When he’s not hitting the court for the Cleveland Cavaliers, J.R Smith is flexing the latest hyped sneakers and streetwear on Instagram. Getting a cheeky post in before his team’s recent series-levelling win against Boston Celtics, Smith showed off a fresh pair of previously unseen Off-White x Nike Zoom Fly Mercurial Flyknits.
A progressive meshing of the running-geared Zoom Fly and Mercurial football boot, the silhouette’s black upper boasts oversized polka dots on the key strike zones, as seen on the Off-White x Nike Mercurial Vapor 360. Down below, we see “FOAM” printed on the midsole — a nod to its REACT cushioning — while a rainbow-print stripe circling the midsole rounds out this mysterious mashup.
As with all of Virgil Abloh’s collaborative exploits, the Off-White x Nike Zoom Fly Mercurial Flyknit is set to cause quite the buzz. As the NBA Finals wind up and the FIFA World Cup approaches, perhaps we can expect a limited drop in June? We’ll keep you posted.
