Nike’s propensity for sole-swapping is well documented, but this is a combo we never thought we’d see. The recently leaked VaporMax Gliese — formerly the VaporMax DT — takes the full-length VaporMax sole and tops it with the clawed-out tooling of the DT Max ’96.
Now nestled — we’re assuming — in the lifestyle category, it’s had a bit of a makeover. The all-leather construction has been supplanted by a knit/hide make-up, while the fore-foot strap is replaced by laces.
If the build wasn’t enough to make you double take, the colourway surely will be: the swirling black and white weave is topped with bronze overlays, while a big chunk of white comes by way of the sole unit.
We’re yet to hear official confirmation from Beaverton, but US11 reports that this will drop on February 2.
