UPDATE: KAWS has put up a post on his Instagram confirming that he will, in fact, be releasing his Air Jordan 4 collaboration via his website. Sent over Easter weekend, the post says that KAWS will be emailing release details next week to everyone who has subscribed to his mailing list, meaning that the email will be hitting inboxes sometime between April 17 and April 21.
As a PSA, we’d like to remind everybody to keep a watchful eye on their ‘junk’ inbox as well. This will ensure that you don’t find yourself in the situation one of our writers did last week, wherein you realise way too late that you’ve won a raffle for the KAWS AJ4s and have an emotional breakdown. [Editor’s Note: Good one, Rob!]
The KAWS x Air Jordan 4 release has come and gone – and as many salty sneakerheads are trying to console themselves after missing out, KAWS has thrown a spanner in the works with news that there might be more pairs to come.
Thanks everyone who came out to the #KAWS @jumpman23 release at the @brooklynmuseum today! I’m seeing a lot of comments from people upset about my website not releasing the product today but I never mentioned product would be on my site today. For every release on kawsone I have sent a mailer the day before announcing the release and time it will go live. I wish I caught wind of this sooner so I could prevent wasted time and expectations.
After taking to Instagram to say that he wouldn’t be releasing any shoes on his website without first mailing out a warning, he then posted this:
The same image can now be found on his landing page with an option to subscribe to his newsletter below.
With a second release all but confirmed, it looks like the action isn’t quite over. Head over to KAWS’ site to sign up to his newsletter, and keep your eyes glued to your inbox.
