We’ve heard rumours, we’ve seen the sketchy mock-ups, and now it seems we’ve finally got images of the next Supreme x Nike colab. The infamous New York skate label has chosen the cream of Nike’s retro streetwear sneaker crop from 2016 – the Air More Uptempo – for their canvas. And in Supreme’s typical style, the shoe has been plastered with brazen branding.
As predicted, the ‘AIR’ branding has been substituted with Supreme’s, which has been writ large and wrapped around the shoe. ‘SUP’ and ‘EME’ shout from the medial and lateral parts of the shoe, and the remaining ‘R’ takes centre stage on the heel. It’s an interpretation of an iconic 90s design that is being met with a mixed reception. Some are all for it, but others are noting that part of what made the original branding so gripping was that it worked into the midsole. Still, it is early days for the colab. We won’t know whether this is an early sample or final product until Supreme and Nike weigh in. Stay with us, and you’ll know as soon as they do.
