Let’s be honest, not everybody cares for basketball shoes. Some folk would much rather take the backcountry over a backboard. But every now and then, even those wilderness weirdos are forced to face up to the fact that team sports carry their own special social currency. So Nike have produced a shoe that will allow such people to approach the frontier with a hint of something familiar: a LeBron 15 dressed as an ACG Mowabb.
The high-tech BattleKnit upper and Zoom Air sole have been given an almost identical colour treatment to the 90s adventure boot, while the triangular ‘LBJ’ logo on the ankle mimics the classic All Conditions Gear branding. The designers have even gone so far as to revise old ‘AIR MOWABB’ font and used it to print the ‘LEBRON JAMES’ text on the insole.
The Nike LeBron 15 ‘Mowabb’ hasn’t got any solid release info yet; we’ll keep you posted.
