Danish sportswear brand hummel has aligned with Japanese label Monkey Time, pairing the refined aesthetics of the East with the best of the West. The result is the Wastelands collection, a footwear and six-piece apparel collection inspired by the characteristic subdued hues of the urban wilderness.
The centrepiece of the collection is a reinterpreted version of the Marathona silhouette. A union of European sport design together with the meticulousness of Japanese street culture the low-cut runner is dressed in multiple hues of high-grade beige suede and leather; . A subtle addition embossed branding on the tonal tongue adds some low-key stunting to this carefully crafted colab. The collection is rounded out by a six-piece apparel collection featuring short-sleeved velour sweatshirts, alongside a bomber jacket, coat and cargo bottoms, all of which have been cut from military twill. The entire apparel collection has been made in Japan with methods based on artisanal production.
Just 250 pairs of the Marathona have been made, together with 110 units of each apparel item. Monkey Time have already released their pairs, but select global hummel stockists will be dropping these on May 12th. Act quick!
