To celebrate the life and legacy of late skater Dylan Rieder, HUF have announced the release of the 4th edition of the Dylan Driver shoe for what would be his 31st birthday on May 26. Best known for his style amongst skaters, Rieder turned Pro at 18 and continued to deliver pinnacle skate parts in numerous skate films – including Alien Workshop’s Mind Field in 2009 and Supreme’s Cherry in 2014.
Rieder’s previous iterations of the Dylan Driver shoes all ooze style, and this 4th edition is certainly no different. Handcrafted in the USA, they feature a full grain metallic leather upper, lambskin lining, HUF branding on the upper and, to finish, Dylan’s insignia with gold foil inscription in the insole. Like all Dylan Driver shoes, they don’t immediately look skate-able, but they definitely are. The EVA midsoles and Vibram rubber outsoles will make sure of that.
Only 150 pairs are available worldwide. Exclusive at HUF stores on May 26, and on the HUF online store on May 28, the retail price is $250. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Rieder family.
Alongside the release, HUF will commemorate the life of Rieder with a photo show on Friday, May 24. Portraits will be auctioned off at the event, with all proceeds going to the City of Hope Treatment Center.
