In the past, Hender Scheme’s penchant for taking well-known silhouettes and remaking them in premium leather ruffled feathers and prompted IP infringements. This time, however, the leathersmiths have gone legit and launched their first official colab with a sneaker brand, jumping straight in the deep end with adidas to recreate the Micropacer.
Contrasting the OG Micropacer’s tech, this iteration celebrates leather (no surprises there), the mother of history's earliest shoes, and ditches the Micropacer's retro pedometer. As with any Hender Scheme creation, this Micropacer is going to cost you big; expect to part with roughly 1000 big ones.
If undeterred by the price, then we have good news: these Henders will be easier to get than others in the past. The production run has been boosted from the usual 100 pairs to 300, and adidas’ distribution is likely to spread them far and wide.
The Hender Scheme x adidas Micropacer will be available on September 3 from select adidas retailers.
