Scottish sneaker overlords Hanon have prepped another stellar colab, crossing both ASICS and lil bro Onitsuka Tiger. The 'Glover Pack' takes the ASICS Gel-Epirus and the Onitsuka Tiger Colorado Eighty-Five and dresses them up in colourways inspired by great Scot Thomas Blake Glover, who was somewhat of frontiersman of the orient back in the 19th century. Glover arrived in Japan in 1859 and became a green tea trader but attained national fame (and infamy depending on your political beliefs) when he kitted Samurai clans out with Scottish ships and artillery to win a war against the ruling Tokugawa Shogunate. He did some other cool stuff, like bringing the first locomotive to Japan – and look what they've done with that since then (a lot more than Europeans have), so he's well deserving of his own shoe. Hanon dress this Colorado in golden yellow and black º because Nippon is the land of the rising sun, of course – and lay out the upper with perfroated suede, nubuck and synthetic overlays. Glover man would be proud of these, especially the dainty embossed moustache graphic on the heels which rep his famed face furniture. The Glover Pack drops September 27.
