Following in the footsteps of last year’s ‘From Seoul to Rio‘ collection, Diadora have once again revisited the year of 1988 to siphon inspiration for a fresh drop of footwear and apparel. Infused with the legacy of the track, this new capsule collection reflects a glory era of athleticism in period-correct style.
Rather than just resurrecting a retro from the archives and calling it a day, the creative minds at the Italian sportswear brand have wound back the clock to create an all-new silhouette for the collection that embodies late-80s design. Named the Sirio, the low-cut runner takes its mark in traditional nylon and suede, dressed in clean-cut black and white with a gum sole to finish.
With ’88 an Olympic year, the apparel component of the collection truly captures the spirit of the Games through the use of vivid colour. The standout inclusion is the Track Jacket BJ88 with its ring-banded sleeves, which has been finely crafted with Made in Italy construction.
The entire Diadora ‘Running ’88’ collection is available for purchase now through select Diadora stockists worldwide and from Diadora.com.
