Whodathunk that a brand with such a dirty name could create something so clean – Garbstore are back for their third rendezvous with Reebok and they've again produced some tight and tidy, totally uncluttered designs. The press release we've been sent about the range also harnesses the exceptionally professional feel of the whole colab; it's well written and tells us everything we need to know about each shoe in the pack without the jargon. Anyone in the media business knows that's a rare thang, so we're gonna let the source do the talking just this one time...
The collection comprises four much-loved Reebok Classic silhouettes: the Phase II, Classic Leather 6000, Classic Inferno and Pump Running Dual Mid.
For the Phase II, inside details and stitching are transported through the shoe to form the outside design, whilst traditionally external features adorn the insole, which features a printed outline of the sole design creating a novel aesthetic touch.
Muted colorways form the backdrop of the two Classic Leather 6000 styles, which combine soft neutral tones for understated, timeless style. A white toe is juxtaposed with a branded pebble midsection, which unexpectedly divides the shoe for a bold, edgy look. Taking inspiration from locker room sports towels, the two styles are completed with premium pig suede lining and luxe terry cloth outers in either steel grey or olive rear colorways.
The 90s Classic runner Inferno returns for the collaboration, featuring contrasting textures and colors that result in a contemporary and daring interpretation of the silhouette. Mesh windows expose the arch bandage from the inside, whilst perforated suede leather adorns the midsection in a distinctive outline that brings an original twist to the shoe’s traditional construction. A speckled sole provides a final dash of style and fresh update for fall.
The fourth style from the collection, the Pump Dual, is reworked into a mid-boot for a new take on the staple silhouette. Heavy contrast stitching reveals the asymmetrical outlines of the Pump Dual units that wrap around the rear of the shoe, offering an original perspective and exclusive look at the infamous Pump technology.
The four styles from the Reebok Classic x Garbstore FW14 collection will drop between July – November 2014 at select retailers worldwide as well at www.reebok.com.
