New Balance are expanding the 574 Sport arsenal with a double drop of fresh colourways, set to hit shelves this September. A modern interpretation of NB’s classic 574 runner, the 574S merges the brand’s rich heritage with high-tech innovation for a classically styled sneaker that offers a supremely comfortable stride. This latest collection emphasises the amalgamation of past and present, delivering two distinct looks for the newly introduced silhouette.

The heritage inspiration of the 574 proudly shines through on the 574S Suede, which features traditional suede overlays set atop heathered stretch mesh. The model returns next month in two new colourways, both of which are rooted in natural inspiration – a nod to the model’s off-road running origins.
The earthier of the two make-ups has been fittingly dubbed ‘Mountain Olive’, while the other sets sail in ‘Deep Sea Blue’. Both colourways are accented with hits of white, grey and beige for a traditional appearance. The model’s heritage is particularly emphasised by the ‘Deep Sea Blue’ make-up, which serves as a throwback to the original M576 colourway.
For those that prefer kicks on the sleeker end of the spectrum, New Balance also bring us two new colourways of the 574S Athletic. This mesh-based derivation capitalises on the latest technological innovations with its use of welded construction at the toe box and signature ‘N’.
Keeping with the model’s minimalist styling, these latest make-ups opt for tonal blends of mint and berry respectively. Each utilises slight variations of their key pigment across a medley of materials to distinguish each panel. For contrast, the outsole and Abzorb crush pad at the heel have been left crisp white.
The 574S is only young, but already it shows huge potential for the future. Releases such as these illustrate an exciting new direction for NB that simultaneously honours and respects the past.
All four new make-ups of New Balance 574 Sport will release on September 2 at newbalance.com and select retailers worldwide.
