UPDATE: Hiroshi Fujiwara’s sneak peek snaps of the upcoming Fragment Design x sacai x Converse Chuck Taylor were much appreciated but they left us with a few questions. Namely, was the ‘Sample Not for Resale’ part of the design? Luckily we didn’t note it as a selling feature – even though we kind of liked it – because crisp, new pictures have surfaced devoid of the ambiguous red text.
A small, white-stitched patch on the left shoe’s lateral side and collaborators’ branding on the heel is all that distinguishes this Chuck from other Chucks. There’s been no firm word on the Colette exclusive angle, but we’ll let you know when we know. This one’s definitely a release for Fragment Design and sacai fans. The rest of us will be content with good old-fashioned, patch-free Chucks.
Colette collaborations, so hot right now. Following the Balenciaga x Colette Speed Racer, and the Colette x Club 75 x Converse Trois collection, we’re seeing snaps from Hiroshi Fujiwara himself of Fragment Design x sacai x Converse Chuck Taylor colab, rumoured to be exclusive to Colette. Chuck Taylors lend themselves well to most colabs (try and think of one that hasn’t worked…it’s hard) but there’s something about the pared-back cool of fragment design and sacai that feels extra-suited to the old-timer silhouette. The shoe maintains its canvas DNA in black and white colourways, each stamped ‘sacai’ on the left heel, ‘frgmt’ on the right.
An autumn drop is the word, but that is yet to be confirmed.
