Last week, Detroit Pistons point guard Isaiah Thomas was snapped on the hardwood wearing Air Max 97s decked out in Tigerstripe camouflage. The previously unseen colourway was finished off with an American flag on the tongue, suggesting that Nike will be reviving their popular 'Country Camo' collection from 2013. Four more camouflaged Air Max 97s have since emerged.
The new assortment features a mixture of woodland and desert-themed colourways, each utilising different camo patterns, including Flecktarn and Brushstroke. Only side-on images have emerged, largely obscuring the tongue tags; however, German, French and British flags appear to be represented if you look hard enough (you've got to really squint!). Rumours suggest that the tongue tags are affixed by Velcro and will be interchangeable.
We'r waiting on official word from the Swoosh, but the Nike Air Max 97 'Country Camo' collection is likely to release in late December through select stockists.
