First Look: Nike's New Air Max 97 Colourways

Date: July 11 2017

By: Rob Marfell

A preview of Nike’s upcoming Air Max 97 colourways has leaked, showing a new take on the shoe that's more 90s than ever. Drops like the ‘Metallic Gold’ and ‘Silver Bullet’ are rooted in 90s stylings, but they’ve been adopted so fiercely by new-gen sneakerheads that few see them as ‘retro’ anymore.

These fresh options echo those designs with simple colour combos like ‘Triple White’ or ‘Black/White’, but they also get a little wild. Two in particular see cerulean blue meet ‘Volt’, and silver paired with lime green. Neither adhere to simple block colouring, coming instead in a novel mishmash that brings on waves of 90s nostalgia.
